Dear Parents,
The purpose of the rules is to provide guidelines about the sort of behavior we wish to see from our students at the school. We would like to introduce you first to the rights of your children in our school.
Rights of our students
Every student has the right to:
1. Receive a scholarly and academically attractive environment.
2. Learn to the best of his/her ability without being hindered by others.
3. Live each day at school feeling safe without fear, threats and name calling.
4. Be treated with consideration and respect.
5. Be treated fairly.
6. Listen to him/her especially if they are upset or concerned.
7. Observe them when things are not going well for them.
Student’s responsibilities
Our students should:
- Follow the school rules.
- Be polite and show respect for others.
- Be self-controlled and disciplined.
- Wear the school uniform every day and the sports uniform when he/she has P.E class; students not wearing the uniform are not permitted to attend the morning assembly.
We would like the parents to carry out the following:
· White socks and black shoes.
· No open sandals are allowed.
· Send an extra outfit and underwear, and label each piece of clothing for KG1 & KG2 students only.
· During winter, students should wear navy blue /gray jackets or sweater; label all jackets and sweaters.
· White tights for girls (in winter); Other colors are not allowed.
· Cut hair (for boys) and nails .
- Listen and respond positively to directions or requests made by teaching and supporting staff.
- Make sure that they bring to school everything that will be needed for the day; the correct books, not- books, pens, colors… ect.
- Take home all that will be necessary for completing homeworks.
- If a student doesn’t follow the school rules there will be:
· Verbal warning from the teacher and the supervisor.
· Written warning will be sent to the parent if the student’s improper behavior continues.
- The school has the right to expel or suspend a student for a period deemed necessary by school if a student physically or emotionally offend a school worker or if the student’s behavior was improper inside or outside the school.
- The student’ guardian is responsible for any damages inflicted on school’s property by the student.
- Mobile phones are not permitted at the school premises and the administration shall confiscate mobiles found with students.
· weekly plan will be sent with your children every Thursday; parents are kindly requested to make sure that their child is following the weekly plan and accomplished his/her homework under their supervision .The completed home work must be sent the next day to school.
· Kindly keep the corrected home work at home
· Make sure that your child writes his/her name on his/her copybooks, and homework materials.
· To help your son/daughter take care of his exercise books & copybooks, we appreciate if you could cover such books with clear contact paper.
- The morning assembly starts at 7:45a.m.
- Class hours are from 8:00 a.m to 12:00p.m.for KG 1&KG2, and from 8:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m for the other grades.
- Staff supervision will start as early as 7:00a.m., therefore, Parents are fully responsible for dropping off their children before this time.
- The entrance doors to the KG1& KG2 will be closed from at 11:30 a.m until 12:00 p.m (leaving time) , and for the other grades, the door will be closed at 1:00 p.m until 2:00 (leaving time).
- kindly do not pick-up your child from KG1 or KG2 before 12:00, and not before 2:00 in Gr.1 through 9.
- The school is not responsible for students whom parents are late to pick them up for more than half an hour after the school bell.
- There will be staff supervising children in KG1 & KG2 till 2:00 p.m.
- If you are going to be late for any reason, please notify the school immediately.
- No child will be released for any reason unless parents call and notify the school, or that person has written permission from the parents to pick-up the child.
- If for any reason you have to pick-up your child before the usual time (1:15p.m or 2:15p.m) , you are kindly requested to drop by the KG office or the primary office, and get an authorization.
- No child will be released from the class without the authorization form.
Absence and Tardiness:
- If your child is absent, kindly inform the school.
- If your child is absent for more than two consecutive days, a medical report from his /her physician stating the kind of illness and its duration is required before he/she will be admitted to class, or the student’s absence is considered unjustified.
- Tardy (late) children must have absence slip from the supervisor to enter the class. And the child will not be permitted to enter his/her first period .
Keep your child home I f he/she :
- Has a fever or had one during the previous 12 hours period.
- Has heavy nasal discharge.
- Has a symptom of a possible communicable disease.
- Is just tired .Rest at home at such times may prevent the development of serious illness.
- In case of an accident injury, we will make an immediate attempt to contact you. If we cannot reach you we will proceed with the necessary action.
· Meetings are held at least twice during the school year .The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the child’s progress.
· Parents will be notified a head of time about the date.
· If you would like to meet the teacher in order to discuss the progress or any problem your child might be facing, please contact the school secretary to arrange an appointment.
· Please do not discuss your child’s progress with the teacher during the morning assembly or at the end of the school day.
Snacks:
Children will have their snacks in the food court. Snaks permitted are:
Sandwiches, fruits or vegetables, juice, cake, biscuit, and cookies.
Children are not allowed to bring the following items:
· Junk food like potato chips.
· Eggs (hard boiled eggs or egg sandwiches)
· Soft drinks juices in glass bottles
· Chocolate, candy, chewing gum and lollipops.
General Information:
· Recreational and educational trips will be organized throughout the school year.
· Birthday celebrations are Not allowed at our school for all grades (KG1-Gr9)
· The school isn’t responsible for the loss or breakage of any jewelry items such as rings, bracelets….ect.
